Two teenage fathers. Two lives built from scratch with no roadmap and no safety net. We didn't know each other yet, but we were already on the same path.

Dwayne: It was the most pivotal moment of my life: finding out I was going to be a father as a teenager. That news lit a fire in me. Without a father of my own—he passed away when I was six—I had no roadmap. I had to figure things out as I went, learning the hard way more times than I'd like to admit.
I attended a technical high school, earned my diploma, and left with a solid job in electrical work. But the long hours and constant travel took a toll. I could provide financially, but I couldn't be as present as I wanted to be for my growing family. I needed a change.
That's when I stumbled into car sales. With a love for cars and a natural ability to connect with people, it was the right fit. It also gave me the financial footing to buy my first property in 2015—a foreclosed condo that needed serious work. Where others saw problems, I saw potential. I renovated it, leveraged its equity, and used that momentum to build a diversified portfolio of rental units. Each property added to my financial stability and taught me something new about strategic investing.
That experience changed everything. It showed me that with perseverance and smart planning, I could create real opportunities for myself. It also pointed me toward my true calling. In 2020, I got my real estate license, determined to help others build the kind of wealth I had worked so hard to create for myself.
Today, as a father of five with a supportive wife and a growing client base, I'm grateful for every obstacle that shaped me. When I stumbled upon Christopher at the gym, life was about to get even better.
Christopher: Like Dwayne, my life changed forever when I found out in high school that I was going to be a father. I canceled plans for college and instead prepared myself to provide for someone else. That makes you grow up fast.
I'd been working in construction since age 14. With my savings, I opened a barbershop at age 20. That business is like my child—I still own it—and it seeded a love for business.
My next endeavor was opening a massage therapy practice. My wife was a masseuse and I loved the vibe at her office: the clients were kind and positive. It was the opposite of my work environment. I wanted more positivity and calmness in my life, so I became a massage therapist myself. We opened our own practice, hired staff, and built life-long connections along the way.
One of those connections was the sales director of a solar company. "Would you consider changing careers?" he asked me once. That simple question led to a new chapter: sales. I went door to door selling solar panels, and let me tell you, you develop a tough skin fast. I experienced so much rejection that I became immune to it. And although the job ultimately wasn't for me, I knew I wanted to continue in sales.
Enter Dwayne. We met at the gym in 2012, started chatting, and next thing you know, a group of us were training together. The others moved away, but Dwayne and I built a lasting friendship. I knew he was a realtor, and in the back of my mind, I thought it would be a great fit for me. I had run two successful businesses, owned real estate, and had a construction background.
I brought it up to Dwayne a few times as he was considering his broker's license. I pitched him on the idea that my business background could bring something valuable to the table. He was open to it, and together we decided to combine our strengths and open our own brokerage. I shadowed Dwayne for a year before fully jumping in, and I'm convinced I learned from the best. I now have 6 children; my hobby is spending time with them and my wife. I also love my job as a REALTOR®––it’s hard work that deeply fulfilling.
Our partnership is built on genuine friendship—we actually enjoy working together, which is rare. We pride ourselves on being extremely honest with our clients, always putting their needs first and never pushing for a sale just to earn a commission. We go into homes and inspect them thoroughly, pointing out any defects or red flags, even if it means talking clients out of a purchase. Our backgrounds as real estate investors give us unique insight and practical knowledge that many agents don’t have.
Our clients benefit from our extensive network of contractors. We also stay available long after the sale, offering ongoing support and advice. Real estate isn’t our only source of income, so we’re able to focus on building lasting relationships rather than chasing commissions. When clients work with us, they get honest, knowledgeable, and committed bilingual agents. We advocate on their behalf during negotiations and offer thoughtful perspectives because we want them to love their new home.
Sincerely,
